Trajadura

white

Vinho Verde's roundness — soft, ripe, middle-of-the-blend.

Trajadura — known as Treixadura in Spain — is a workhorse white grape in northern Portugal and Galicia. In Vinho Verde blends it contributes roundness, ripe stone-fruit character, and modest alcohol to balance the higher-acid Loureiro and Alvarinho. In Spain's Ribeiro DO, where it is Treixadura, the grape often takes the lead and produces fuller-bodied, more textural whites. Plantings remain almost entirely in Iberia.
